Marc Sapir is a Brooklyn, New York based artist whose work creates atlases of juxtaposed, layered images and text fragments to yield indefinable, abstract connections between words and images. Meaning is read through the collective accumulation of layered imagery and text fragments touching on the ephemeral nature of memory, the fluidity of language and meaning and the Sebaldian notion that “On every new thing there lies the shadow of annihilation”.
